SERIES – Faces of Humanity

Faces of Humanity explores the many stages of human experience and the emotions that shape who we become. The series unfolds through four charcoal portraits, each representing a different moment in life.

It begins with Echoes of Time, a portrait of an elderly woman whose face carries the marks of experience, memory and resilience. Her upward gaze reflects a lifetime of lessons learned and a quiet connection to the generations that came before. In Between Selves, adulthood emerges as a period of transition. Identity is questioned, responsibilities grow and the search for one’s place in the world becomes increasingly complex. The figure appears suspended between reflection and transformation, caught between who they have been and who they are becoming. The First Doubt moves into childhood, a stage in which the world begins to expand beyond innocence. Curiosity is accompanied by uncertainty, self-awareness and the first encounters with vulnerability. It captures the moment when a child starts to understand both themselves and the world around them. The journey concludes with Before Fear, a celebration of pure presence and joy. Free from judgement, guilt and expectation, the child embodies a state of openness, spontaneity and unrestricted life. It is a reminder of the vitality and freedom that exist before fear takes hold.

Together, these portraits reflect the shared experiences that connect us across cultures, backgrounds and generations. They invite viewers to consider not only the differences between us, but also the universal emotions that define our humanity.
